I figure all I can do is try to reduce/reuse/recycle all I can and not sweat every little thing. Even eliminating 50% of what I was tossing into landfills previously is helping, I believe. I do use the reusable grocery sacks. I reuse my water bottles 3 times before tossing them into the recycle bin (I tried the reusable cups but every one I've tried makes the water taste funny to me). I'm looking for those recyclable trash liners for my recycling goods, but I'm having a hard time finding them. I also use any paper I come across as writing paper. I just flip it over and write on the backside.Stephanie Farishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10461865229341760836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3482454784382155792.post-4243114972101915552010-11-01T21:51:26.330-04:002010-11-01T21:51:26.330-04:00Wow. Anyone who blogs, blogs to connect with people, and certainly it's understood that people will disagree from time to time. But I've never attacked anyone and it seems to me, one can disagree without being cruel about it.

And yes, there are writers and bloggers. The difference was much greater on MySpace...blogging was, of course writing, in essence, but many over there weren't really writers at heart. They just blogged for attention and when MySpace was shoved aside for Facebook and Twitter, they simply went over to those sites and found other ways to get attention.Stephanie Farishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10461865229341760836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3482454784382155792.post-7603635849965776282010-04-20T10:04:36.687-04:002010-04-20T10:04:36.687-04:00Hold that thought ............ for about ten years...Hold that thought ............ for about ten years then get back to me.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01793972339968446986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3482454784382155792.post-57534919628142725452010-04-20T09:45:51.622-04:002010-04-20T09:45:51.622-04:00I have never been the type to dwell on the past. A utilitarian would think its not immoral to lie to someone as long as the outcome is good.

I've made decisions based on what someone has told me only to find out they were lying. I've also lied trying to convince someone to change their mind thinking I was protecting them in the long run.

Maybe that Mom should have told their child they are too fat and need to loose weight instead of telling them "its just baby fat."

Hurting someones feelings by telling them the truth just might be the catalyst that helps them turn a corner and lead them down a better path. Yes, at that moment they might be mad at you but they may thank you later on.

I was cursed with the ability to know when I'm being lied too. When people lie to you and you know it--it still hurts.

It's not the lie that hurts its the lack of trust.

I just found the subject interesting and wanted to share.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01793972339968446986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3482454784382155792.post-34704959137367953182010-02-28T12:02:04.360-05:002010-02-28T12:02:04.360-05:00I've heard the saying, "Politeness is the...I've heard the saying, "Politeness is the degree to which you censor your thoughts." So is censoring our thoughts lying? Is it a lie by omission? But you can always see the writing on the wall. My sister says the same thing...she's been laid off twice from failing companies. Things just go downhill slowly and they start cutting staff to try to save themselves. It rarely works, though. I work for government. My pay sucks but I have (mostly) job security.
